As the world goes through its share of economic development we at Sahara
are constantly putting our endeavors to focus ourselves towards
sustainable development. In this context we are making an attempt to share
with the readers of SEED our thoughts, our achievements and the path we
are taking to demonstrate the same.
This issue introduces the journey so far that we have covered at one of
our ambitious projects Amby Valley, Sahara Lake City (AVSLC) nestled in
the picturesque hills of the Sahayadri range in district Pune, Maharashtra,
India. A dream of our beloved Chairman & Managing Worker (fondly called
Saharasri), this project is being developed as the first planned hill city
which shall be one of the topmost five destinations of the world. Nestled
in the cradle of nature, development here goes hand in hand with nature
and is a model of man and nature peacefully coexisting and enhancing the
value of such a relationship for the benefit of mankind.
It shall be our effort to bring forth some key articles and thoughts from
learned personalities in the field of environment and sustainable
development. Needless to say articles and contributions from the readers
are also welcome.
SEED is being launched as a knowledge and information dissemination
initiative of Sahara India Pariwar on the subjects of Quality, Environment
and Sustainable Development. Sahara Quality Competency Centre (SQCC) and
Sahara Environment Excellence Destination (SEED) are the twin vehicles on
this journey of our Pariwar. We have extensively covered the structured
profile of SEED in this issue. An article on Water & Energy, a subject
that shall continue to confront us as matters of debate and conflicts in
the years to come is also included.
We have just made a humble beginning and if you would like to make a
suggestion to add value to our efforts; kindly send in the same to us.
Like they say., A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.
