Aamby Valley City is a formal
member of ICLEI. The International Council for Local Environmental
Initiatives is an international association of local governments
implementing Sustainable Development. Its mission is to build and serve a
worldwide movement of local governments to achieve tangible improvements
in global environmental and Sustainable Development conditions through
cumulative local actions.
Cities for Climate Protection campaign is a global
campaign to reduce the emissions that cause global warming and air
pollution. This campaign began in 1993 worldwide and its Indian activities
started with support from USAID. Through the Indian CCP campaign, we will
be working towards finding various innovative and cost effective solutions
to environmental and urban management problems such as reducing fossil
fuel based energy consumption, improving air quality, improving waste
management and thereby minimizing the emission of climate damaging Green
House Gases.
In India, ICLEI is also working with seven other
municipal corporations – Guntur, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Ludhiana,
Sangli and Vadodra.
Aamby Valley City is committed to
provide World’s Best Living by providing custom made facilities at par
with international standards, state-of-the-art transportation, security
and communication facilities, an 18-hole floodlit championship golf course
with golf academy, water and adventure sports and a complete social
infrastructure. All these activities and facilities lead to the
possibility of vast consumption of energy and thereby emissions. By
joining CCP campaign, Aamby Valley City will ensure, at all times, preventive measures
to maintain the quality of air, the adherence to pollution norms and waste
minimization on a sustainable basis. All these activities will be
monitored through an established environment laboratory by SEED team at
Aamby Valley City.
These various initiatives show the commitment of Aamby Valley City
towards environment friendly and sustainable activities leading to stress
free and secure life for all, in times to come.
